Marwa Abbas

Marwa Abbas has over 30 years of experience in the technology field. Currently, she’s the General Manager and Technology Leader at IBM Egypt. She started her career at IBM in 1994 and has since held many influential executive roles in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa. 

In 2013, Marwa led the launch of IBM’s first digital sales center in the Middle East and Africa, and subsequently, in January 2022, she was appointed as the first female General Manager of IBM Egypt. During this period, she expanded the operations of the Centers of Excellence in Egypt, which provide a comprehensive range of consulting services, diverse expertise, and skill development.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in business administration from the American University in Cairo. This combination of academic qualifications in both technical and managerial fields has significantly enhanced her leadership capabilities. 

Additionally, she has been certified by the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, as a Board Director.
