
Mahmoud El Khateeb is a business leader with over 25 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries. He currently serves as Vodafone Business Director and Board Member of Vodafone Data, where he leads enterprise strategy and over-sees operations, revenue performance, and innovation across Africa and the Middle East.
Since joining Vodafone Egypt, Mahmoud has played a key role in redefining Vodafone Business’s position from a traditional telecommunications provider into a digital transformation partner. He led initiatives that support SMEs in their digital transformation and partnered with the government to advance digital healthcare solutions, demonstrating tangible impact and reinforcing Vodafone Business’s role as a trusted enabler of innovation and progress.
Under his leadership, the business doubled its revenue in three years and expanded beyond-connectivity solutions to account for nearly half of total revenues. He oversees the full P&L portfolio, including commercial margins, EBITDA, and operational efficiency, driving sustainable growth and positioning Vodafone Business as a leading innovator in the region.
Prior to Vodafone, Mahmoud held several senior leadership roles at IBM and Microsoft, where he gained extensive experience across the Middle East and Africa. At IBM, he served as Regional Director for Data & AI Ecosystem, leading the adoption of cognitive solutions across emerging markets.
Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at Microsoft in multiple leadership roles, including Director for Global Strategic Accounts, overseeing key partnerships such as Saudi Aramco, and Regional Director for Enterprise Business across SubSaharan Africa, covering 46 countries.
Earlier, as Public Sector Director at Microsoft Egypt, he partnered with government entities and educational institutions to enable digital transformation at the national level and served as a Board Member of the Chamber of IT & Telecommunications, contributing to industry development and policy-making.
