Emad Shawky is the Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Banque Misr, with over two decades of experience building scalable technology and data products for the financial services industry.  

In his current role, Emad leads the bank’s data and AI transformation, developing advanced capabilities that enhance business performance, strengthen smart controls, and drive operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. He is also spearheading the modernization of Banque Misr’s data architecture, improving data quality, and automating enterprise-wide reporting to establish a strong data foundation for the future.

Previously, Emad served as Chief Digital Officer at Banque Misr, where he founded the Digital Factory and launched several of the bank’s flagship digital platforms. Before that, he was Chief Information Officer at IDH Group, leading its digital expansion across Africa and the Middle East, and Head of Software Engineering at EFG Hermes, where he oversaw major technology and product innovations supporting regional growth.

Throughout his career, Emad has driven digital transformation and innovation across retail, SME, and corporate and investment banking, and is recognized for helping organizations harness the power of data, technology, and AI to reshape their business and operating models in the digital era.
