Omar Elsahy

Omar Elsahy serves as the General Manager of Amazon Egypt (Amazon.eg), bringing two decades of experience in management, e-commerce, and outsourcing. He combines deep local knowledge with Amazon’s global expertise to deliver exceptional value to customers across the region.

During his tenure, Amazon.eg has grown to offer millions of products from local and international brands across diverse categories, supported by a local team of more than 2,000 employees. Omar’s responsibilities extend to overseeing the Consumer Electronics business across the GCC region, where he drives growth through innovation and operational excellence.

Omar has been appointed by Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly as a member of the Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Committee, an advisory body designed to strengthen public-private collaboration in policy development. He also serves as Vice President of Programs on the American Chamber of Commerce Board in Egypt, where he contributes to industrial development initiatives and improving the business climate.

 Omar’s commitment to education and entrepreneurship extends to his role on the Strategic Advisory Council to the Dean of the School of Business at the American University in Cairo, supporting academic excellence and institutional reputation. He has provided business development consulting to Silatech, a regional NGO that finances small and medium enterprises to create sustainable employment opportunities for Arab youth, and serves as a mentor at Endeavor Egypt.

Omar holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
